SABANEWSID.com – Alexis Mac Allister menjadi sasaran kritik setelah melakukan blunder yang berujung pada kebobolannya Liverpool di laga Premier League. Namun, perlu dicatat bahwa pemain asal Argemtina itu bukan satu-satunya biang kerok.
Mac Allister tampil sejak menit awal ketika Liverpool bertemu Brighton & Hove Albion, Minggu (8/10/2023) kemarin. The Reds – julukan Liverpool, gagal membawa pulang poin penuh dari Falmer Stadium.
Pertandingan berakhir dengan kedudukan imbang 2-2. The Reds berjuang cukup keras, dan bahkan sempat unggul lebih dulu dari sang lawan berkat dua gol dari Mohamed Salah. Sayang, mereka kebobolan lagi oleh Lewis Dunk.
Hasil imbang ini mungkin bisa dihindari kalau Liverpool tidak kebobolan lebih dulu. Apalagi gol yang dicetak Simon Adingra pada menit ke-20 bisa dihindari. Kesalahan Mac Allister yang tidak menerima operan dari Virgil van Dijk dengan baik jadi biang keroknya.
Van Dijk enggan melihat rekan setimnya menjadi satu-satunya kambing hitam atas kegagalan meraih kemenangan ini. Pemain asal Belanda tersebut juga merasa bahwa dirinya melakukan kesalahan dengan memberikan operan berbahaya.

“Tentu saja, bukan salah dia saja [Mac Allister]. Saya juga. Itu operan yang berbahaya dan kami mencoba bermain dari belakang,” tutur Van Dijk usai pertandingan kepada awak media Sky Sports.
“Hal semacam ini bisa terjadi dan anda akan dihukum. Cara kami bangkit adalah sebuah reaksi yang sangat bagus,” lanjut pria yang juga pernah memperkuat Southampton tersebut.
Pada akhirnya, the Reds cuma bisa mendapatkan satu poin. Tentu kegagalan ini bisa mencederai peluang Liverpool untuk keluar sebagai juara. Saat ini, klub besutan Jurgen Klopp itu berada di peringkat keempat klasemen sementara.
Namun musim 2023/24 masih panjang. Sejauh ini baru ada delapan pertandingan yang dimainkan. Liverpool masih bisa membalikkan situasi, terlebih jarak dengan Tottenham yang ada di puncak klasemen cuma tiga poin saja.
